"Tiny Christmas Things" Pattern Tutorial

Hey Crafty Friends! Around Thanksgiving, I made a card using fall stamps to create a background, then topped it off with a cloudy sentiment. The process was a lot of fun so I made some Christmas cards in the same style. Instead of giving you all a product list, I decided to change it up and do a tutorial instead.

Basic Materials Needed

  • Lawn Fawn Stamps
  • Ink for Blending
  • Ink For Stamping
  • Coloring Utensils
  • Paper for
    • Stamping
    • A Matte
    • Card Blank
    • For Die Cutting/Sentiment
  • Tape Runner
  • White Gel Pen & Glitter Pen
  • Blending Tool
  • Stamping Block
  • Paper Cutter
Step 1: Cut paper to your preferred size, Stamp images in light grey, tan, or in the color you want an image to be. Ex. Stamp a leaf in green if you want to color it green)

Step 2: Color Images. I used alcohol markers but you can use colored pencils, watercolors, or your preferred medium of choice.

Step 3: Use a White gel pen to create highlights on your colored images

Step 4: Add glitter pen accents to your images *Optional

Step 5: Die Cut Cloud, stamp your sentiment on it, and lightly blend ink around the cloud edges

Step 6: Attach the stamped background to a matte, color of your choice, and adhere it to a card blank. You don't need my measurements, you can do this with any size you want!

Step 7: Add double-sided tape to the cloudy sentiment and place it on the scene anywhere that feels good. Top, bottom, or off-center, you can't go wrong!

(Tip: Leave a blank spot open when stamping your images to imply where the sentiment will go. It's not necessary, but it will cut down on any coloring you do getting covered up by the sentiment)
